Palamu District Bar Association Prepares for Executive Committee Elections

Palamu, EW NewsThe Palamu District Bar Association has commenced preparations for the elections of its Executive Committee for the session 2023-25. The three-member Election Committee, comprising eminent lawyers B.N. Choubey, Satish Chandra Mahato, and Shaukat Ali, officially announced the initiation of the election process, set to begin on December 01.

Providing details about the upcoming elections, spokesperson Badhnath Choubey revealed that there are a total of 549 eligible voters participating in the Palamu District Bar Association elections for the 2023-25 term. The voting is scheduled to take place on December 16, with the results slated for announcement on December 17 by late evening.

The election committee members highlighted the creation of a 16-member Executive Committee, where the responsibilities include the positions of President (1), Vice-President (1), Secretary General (1), Treasurer (1), Assistant Treasurer (1), Joint Secretary Administration (1), Joint Secretary Library (1) and nine (9) Executive Members. The President’s position requires a minimum of 25 years of legal practice, while the Vice-President’s role mandates 15 years of practice.

Nomination forms will be available for purchase from December 01 to 04, and scrutiny of the forms is scheduled for December 06. Candidates have the option to withdraw their nominations by December 09. After the scrutiny process, the final list of candidates will be published on December 11.

The Election Committee emphasized that the entire electoral process is being closely monitored, with two observers, Sri Baleshwar Prasad Singh and Sri M.K. Srivastava, appointed by the Jharkhand State Bar Council. Both observers will be present during the voting and counting days.

Following the announcement of election-related activities, the candidates have started vigorous campaigning, reaching out to the members of the Palamu District Bar Association to garner support. The Election Committee, led by senior Advocate sri B.N. Choubey, sri Satish Chandra Mahato, and sri Shaukat Ali, expressed their commitment to ensuring a successful and fair electoral process.
