Greater Noida, Sharda Sarwagya Peethadhiswar Shrimad Jagatguru Shankaracharya Amritanand Devtirth Ji Mahabhag called for freedom of PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) and ancient Sharda peeth from the clutches of Pakistan. Addressing the two day conclave of Sharda Shatabdi Samman Samaroh on Friday he said, “ Pok and Gilgit-Baltistan are an integral part of Bharat. These areas are illegally occupied by Pakistan. A resolution to free them has been passed in the Parliament of India. So now time has came to free these areas along with Sharda Peeth from Pakistan.”
In his inaugural speech Shrimad Jagatguru Shankaracharya elaborated the religious, cultural, historic and mythological importance of Sharda Peeth. Quoting historic and Vedic accounts, he said, “ In Sharda Peeth, India’s religious and cultural legacy gets it’s root. It is among one of the 18 Shakti Peethas in Sanatan Dharm. Ancient Sharda script got it’s origination from this Peeth. According to His holy highness Jagatguru Shankaracharya Ji, “In ancient time the Sharda script was so influential that it earned Kashmir the nickname “ Sharda Desh” meaning “ country of Sharda”.
The head sear of Hindus informed the gatherings of renowned dignitaries that Sharda Peeth, a venerated temple with a history dating back to the 5th century CE, was renowned as a distinguished centre of learning. Its reputation drew students from around the world, including Greece, Mesopotamia, Central Asia, Tibet and China. The temple housed over 5,000 scholars and boasted the largest library of its time. It was an ancient seat of learning much before the advent of Nalanda University. So is Sharda script. It is the oldest script of India supposed to be the mother of many Indian languages.
Sharda Peeth conclave drew experts, research scholars, academicians, historians and experts from every walk of life. Among dignitaries Mahamandleshwar Paramhans Parmatmanand Ji Maharaj presence was the centre of attraction for the people participating in the conference. Sharda University Chancellor PK Gupta welcomed the delegates and dwelt upon the need to reinvent vedic religious and cultural ethos. He was of the opinion that a culturally and religiously rootless fellow is nothing but a burden on the society. Veteran bureaucrat Capt. SK Dwivedi IAS (Retd) in his address called upon the people to invent their glorious religious and cultural past. He vociferously advocated for rewriting history. Former IAS asked the academicians to build a logical narration for the freedom of Sharda Peeth. SOS International Chairman Rajiv Chuni raised the issue of plight of Kashmiri refugees from PoK. He demanded, “ Government of India must come forward with a concrete plan for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants.”
