PM Modi to Inaugurate Historic Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023

Dehradun, EW News:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the much-anticipated “Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023” on December 8 at the prestigious Forest Research Institute in Dehradun. The event, themed “Peace to Prosperity,” aims to position Uttarakhand as a prime investment destination, drawing over a thousand investors and delegates from across the globe.

The state government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has left no stone unturned in ensuring the success of this summit. With a target of attracting Rs 2.5 lakh crore in investments, the government has not only achieved its set goal but is also actively engaged in signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with industrial groups.

To create a buzz around the event, the Uttarakhand government organized a series of roadshows both domestically and internationally. International road shows were conducted in London, Birmingham, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai, while domestic shows covered key cities such as Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai.

The Dhami government has already secured substantial investments, signing agreements totaling Rs 44,825 crore during various road shows. Notable agreements include Rs 26,575 crore in Delhi, Rs 12,500 crore in Britain, Rs 15,475 crore in UAE, Rs 10,150 crore in Chennai, Rs 4,600 crore in Bengaluru, Rs 24,000 crore in Ahmedabad, and Rs 30,200 crore in Mumbai.

The summit will witness the presence of distinguished guests, including three Union Ministers and seven Cabinet Ministers of the State Government. The inaugural session will feature speeches by eight prominent industrialists, providing valuable insights into the investment landscape.

Furthermore, the summit will be graced by 15 Ambassadors/Heads of Mission from various countries, including Spain, Slovenia, Nepal, Cuba, Greece, Austria, Japan, Saudi Arabia, among others. This global participation underscores the international interest in Uttarakhand’s economic potential.

A significant highlight of the summit is the groundbreaking ceremony for projects worth a staggering Rs 44,000 crore during the inaugural session itself. This ambitious move aims to give a robust boost to the state’s economic development, with 16 projects spanning the manufacturing and tourism infrastructure sectors.

As Uttarakhand gears up for this monumental event, all eyes are on the Prime Minister’s inaugural address, which is expected to set the tone for a new era of prosperity and development in the region.
