Ranchi EW Correspondent : The Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, conducted a review of the ongoing Khadi development schemes and Gramodyog initiatives in Jharkhand.During his visit to the State Office of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in Ranchi, the Central Minister inaugurated a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and inspected various products manufactured by units under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). These products included honey, readymade garments, sanitizers, dishwashers, cloth masks, handwash, phenyl, and eco-friendly paint made from cow dung. He discussed progress, income growth, and provided guidance to beneficiaries of PMEGP.
Subsequently, the Honorable Minister reviewed the progress of the Khadi Development Scheme and Gramodyog Development Scheme being implemented in Jharkhand during the financial year 2023-24. He emphasized directing schemes towards more beneficiaries and achieving impactful results.The Minister also announced plans to visit production units directly for further inspection and to provide necessary guidance and suggestions to enhance Khadi and village industry production and sales momentum. Information about the work plan for the financial year 2024-25 was also shared during the interaction.The State Director of KVIC, Ranchi, briefed the Minister that traditional weavers and artisans in villages and towns of Jharkhand are creating popular Khadi garments (Khadi for Fashion, Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Transformation) to align with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal for Local promoted by Honorable Prime Minister.During the occasion, the Central Minister also reviewed and provided guidance to officials of MSMEDF and NSIC for further expansion and direction of their initiatives.Present at the event were officials from the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, State Office, Ranchi, MSMEDF, NSIC, and other related departments.
