Budget Allocated with Full Consideration for Social, Economic, and Educational Upliftment: Chief Minister

Ranchi EW News: Chief Minister Champai Soren has commended the budget presented by the state government for the fiscal year 2024-25, stating that it caters to the aspirations of the people. He highlighted that the government has worked to create a budget that aligns with the trust and expectations of the public. Soren mentioned that a budget of ₹1,28,900 crores has been presented today. He emphasized the government’s efforts to provide relief to farmers, increasing the loan waiver from ₹50,000 to ₹2 lakh. Additionally, provisions have been made to include account holders under the PM-KISAN scheme. The aim is to construct solid houses with three rooms for 20 lakh eligible poor families under the Abhuva housing scheme. Various mega lift irrigation schemes, including Patmada, Peertad, and Palamu, are included in the plan. The Chief Minister also announced changes in the age limit for various pension schemes, reducing it from 60 to 50 years for ST-SC and women. Furthermore, the construction of 2,500 new Anganwadi centers is planned. Soren reiterated that this budget aims to fulfill the vision of a self-reliant Jharkhand, with significant steps taken for industrial development, ensuring full facilities and a conducive environment for investors.

Special Focus on Strengthening the Education System

The Chief Minister outlined that the budget for 2024-25 aims to establish 19 new universities, along with the construction of four women’s universities. Additionally, plans include the establishment of a medical college in Ranchi and a medical city on Rinpas land. In the next fiscal year, efforts will be made to connect 90,000 families to rural women entrepreneurship. The Green Card quota has been increased to 5 lakhs, totaling 25 lakhs. Instead of 100 units, household electricity consumers will now receive 125 minutes of free electricity. Soren emphasized that special provisions have been made in various sectors, including education, sports, and skill development, to ensure continuous progress for the state’s youth.
