Minister Arjun Munda Inaugurates Ekalavya Model Residential Schools in Simdega

Ranchi EW News: Minister of Tribal Affairs, Agriculture, and Farmer Welfare, Shri Arjun Munda, inaugurated Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Bansjor and Pakartand in the Simdega district. Addressing the gathering, Shri Arjun Munda expressed his satisfaction in extending educational facilities to indigenous communities and emphasized the government’s commitment to timely execution of projects. With the recent appointment of 10,000 teachers for EMRS and the establishment of 21 schools in Jharkhand, the government aims to address historical neglect of tribal education. Munda reiterated the government’s goal of opening approximately 740 schools nationwide, providing quality education to 3.5 lakh tribal students annually. These modern EMRS are equipped with facilities like student hostels, mess, residential accommodations for teachers, playgrounds, computer labs, and science laboratories. Additionally, career counseling and skill development services will be available. Moreover, emphasis on green building concepts and environmentally sustainable practices has been integrated into the school infrastructure. Furthermore, 15 excellence centers for sports will be established in EMRS to nurture tribal sports talent. These efforts aim to develop EMRS as comprehensive centers for the holistic development and empowerment of indigenous children. Jharkhand will witness the establishment of 91 EMRS across the state.
