Water, forest, and land rights belong to indigenous people first:  Rahul Gandhi

SANJAY PANDEY

Ranchi/Chaibasa EW News: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated that in the country, the first rights on water, forest, and land belong to indigenous people. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) considers indigenous people as forest dwellers and wants to take away these rights from them. It is our commitment that we will ensure these rights for them. Rahul Gandhi, displaying a copy of the Indian Constitution in the assembly, said that the BJP wants to tear it apart. Whatever indigenous people, Dalits, and backward communities have received in this country is because of this book. Our great leaders gave their lives for this book. Through this same book, you get reservations and jobs. The BJP wants to destroy this book, and we are ready to sacrifice for it. After announcing the elections, Rahul Gandhi visited Chaibasa for the first time in Jharkhand and addressed a rally at the Tata College Ground. He sought votes for Joba Manjhi, the candidate from Singhbhum constituency. The Congress leader raised questions about the low participation of indigenous officers in the country’s top bureaucracy. He said that indigenous people make up eight percent of the total population in the country. But according to this proportion, they do not even have the right to spend ten paisa out of 100 rupees. Rahul Gandhi promised that if the government of the Indian National Congress alliance is formed, every family of the poor, backward, and Dalits will have one lakh rupees deposited in their bank account every year.
