He said, District Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar received a tip-off that a platoon of Naxalite organization PLFI was roaming in the Guiyu forest of Karra area to carry out some incident with weapons. The squad also includes the wanted accused named in Karra police station. After verifying the information, the Superintendent of Police constituted a team and directed to take prompt action.
The team formed, taking immediate action on the matter, started raids in the Guiu forest and during this, 21-year-old Vinod Nayak and a minor, an active member of the militant squad, along with illegal firearms, bullets, PLFI form and donation receipt from Guyu forest located on Padampur Jaria Road. Arrested him. The arrested militant is a resident of Latratu Vantoli of Lapung police station area.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Om Prakash Tiwari said that during the raid, four members of the militant squad managed to escape by taking advantage of darkness and forest. A case has been registered in this regard under sections 25(1-B) A/25(6)/26/35 Arms Act and 17 CLA Act in Karra police station. Two cases each in Karra and Lapung police stations and one each in Nagdi and Kudu police stations have been registered against the arrested militant.
