The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe the hit-and-run death case of District Judge Uttam Anand in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, searched 53 hotels at various places since Saturday night. Also questioned 243 suspects. In addition, 17 people were arrested and over 250 auto-rickshaws were confiscated. Actually the owners of these rickshaws could not present their documents to the police.
Meanwhile, Office in-charge (OC) of Pathardih police station Umesh Manjhi and Sub-Inspector Adarsh Kumar have been suspended for negligence in their work on the matter. The SIT held marathon meetings on Sunday at Dhanbad Circuit House under the chairmanship of ADG (Operations) Sanjay Anand Latkar. He also visited the crime spot and tried to recreate the scene to get clues.
