New Delhi, The Enforcement Directorate (ED) secured a three-day extension in the remand of Sanjay Singh, as they presented fresh evidence in court, alleging corruption related to the issuance of liquor licenses.

Sanjay Singh, who had been in custody for alleged financial irregularities, is now facing additional charges of bribery in connection with obtaining liquor licenses. The ED presented its case before the court, asserting that Singh had sought and accepted bribes for expediting the issuance of these licenses.

The court granted the ED’s request for the extension of Singh’s remand to facilitate further investigation into the allegations. The agency has been actively probing multiple aspects of Singh’s financial dealings, including alleged money laundering and other financial irregularities.

This development has added another layer to the ongoing investigation into Singh’s financial activities. The ED’s pursuit of these new bribery allegations underscores their commitment to uncovering corruption and financial misconduct.

Delhi court also directed AAP MP Sanjay Singh, arrested in the alleged excise scam related money laundering case, not to talk to the media while being produced. The court said it creates a security problem.

The observation by Special Judge M K Nagpal came after the AAP leader, before entering the courtroom, spoke to reporters. The judge also directed media personnel not to ask him questions while he is being produced.

Talking to reporters, Singh claimed, “Honest people are with us while dishonest are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

The arguments on his further remand application, filed by the ED, are currently underway.

Singh was arrested on October 4 by the probe agency Enforcement Directorate in connection with its money laundering probe linked to the 2021-22 Delhi Excise policy case.
