Prime Minister Inaugurates Development Projects Worth Rs. 35,700 Crore in Jharkhand

Ranchi EW News : Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and dedicated several development projects worth Rs. 35,700 crore in Sindri and Dhanbad, Jharkhand. These projects encompass various sectors including fertilizers, railways, electricity, and coal. Among the initiatives, the Prime Minister inspected the HURL model and visited the control room of the Sindri plant.

Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated the people of Jharkhand on the commencement of development projects totaling over Rs. 35,700 crore. He highlighted the employment opportunities these projects would bring for farmers, tribal communities, and citizens.

Reflecting on his commitment to starting the Sindri fertilizer plant, the Prime Minister stated, “This was Modi’s guarantee, and today this guarantee has been fulfilled.” He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in India’s journey towards self-reliance, citing the increased production of urea in the past ten years.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the significance of the new railway projects in Jharkhand, which not only include the inauguration of new rail lines but also the doubling of existing ones. These projects mark a new chapter in Jharkhand’s railway revolution.

Furthermore, he dedicated various power projects in the state, including the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project and several important electricity projects, underscoring the state’s contribution to the nation’s energy supply.

The event was attended by dignitaries including the Governor of Jharkhand, Shri CP Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Shri Champai Soren, and Central Minister Shri Arjun Munda, among others.

The inauguration of these projects signals a significant step towards enhancing regional connectivity and accelerating economic development in Jharkhand, aligning with the government’s vision of building a developed India by 2047.

Let’s keep going. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) Sindri fertilizer plant to the nation. Developed at a cost of over 8900 crore rupees, this fertilizer plant is a step towards self-reliance in the urea sector. It will increase domestic urea production by approximately 12.7 million metric tonnes per year and benefit the farmers of the country. This is the third fertilizer plant to be revived in the country after the revival of the Gorakhpur and Ramagundam fertilizer plants, which were dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister in December 2021 and November 2022 respectively.

The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several railway projects in Jharkhand with a cost of over 17,600 crore rupees. These projects include the third and fourth lines connecting Son Nagar to Andal; Tori-Shivpur first and second lines, Biratoli-Shivpur third railway line (part of the Tori-Shivpur project); Mohanpur-Hansdiha new railway line; Dhanbad-Chandrapura railway line, and other projects. These projects will expand rail services in the state and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region. During this program, the Prime Minister also flagged off three trains, including the Devghar-Dibrugarh train service, the Memu train service between Tatanagar and Badampahar (daily), and the long-distance goods train from Shivpur station.

The Prime Minister dedicated several important power projects in Jharkhand to the nation, including the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (NTPC), Unit 1 (660 megawatts) at Chhattar. Developed at a cost of over 7500 crore rupees, this project will improve electricity supply in the region, boost job creation, and contribute to the social and economic development of the state. The Prime Minister also dedicated projects related to the coal sector in Jharkhand to the nation.
