Puducherry, Coronavirus Disease (COVID 19) infection cases continued to reduce in the union territory with just 73 more persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours ending at 10 AM no deaths were reported during the period.
With this, the tally of infection rose to 123151 and the death toll remained 1809.
According to the Covid 19 status for Thursday released by the health department, of the 2295 swab tests taken yesterday,73 tested positive for the virus.45 new cases were in Puducherry region,eight in karaikal ,four in Yanam and 16 in Mahe reigons.66 persons were discharged in the alst 24 hours.31 of them were from Puducherry region,10 from karaikal,two from yanam and 23 from mahe regions.
Presently, 119 persons are being treated in Puducherry region,20 in Karaikal,two in Yanam and 22 in Mahe regions.Another,604 positive cases are under home isolation in all the four regions of the union territory.
So far,123151 persons are infected by the virus of which 120575 were treated and discharged and 1809 died leaving 767 active cases here.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 3.18 percent,case fatality rate 1.47 percent and recovery rate 97.91 percent.
As many as 792627 persons including health care workers and front line workers besides general public were so far vaccinated against Covid in the union territory.
