New Delhi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the new Bihar Sadan in Dwarka, New Delhi via video conferencing. Bihar Sadan is the third State Guest House in Delhi after Bihar Bhawan and Bihar Niwas. Nitish Kumar said that completion of Bihar Sadan was a milestone for the development of Bihar. People visiting Delhi-NCR from official, non-official and medical purposes will get the best facilities here. He also said that Bihar Sadan had been constructed using environmentally – proven materials. Fly ash bricks have been used in this Building . Many offices of Government of Bihar will run from here. He instructed officers to ensure its proper maintenance.
Accommodation for people of Bihar visiting Delhi was a long-standing problem. Functioning of this house will solve the problem to a large extent. The new Bihar Sadan is expected to become an important land mark in the national capital symbolizing the public-friendly approach of the Bihar Government. This House will act like a One-Stop Solution for all needs of people from Bihar. Covering an area of two acre, there are 10 floors in Bihar Sadan in addition to basement & ground floor. It has 118 rooms. There is a multipurpose conference hall with a capacity of 200 people & also a cafeteria catering 180 people in the Sadan.
Delhi-based liaison offices of Bihar viz. Energy, Tourism, IPRD, Water Resources, Finance, Road Construction among others will function from Bihar Sadan. This will cater to the needs of Bihari diaspora in Delhi-NCR more effectively and adequately. Green initiatives were incorporated in building this meticulously-designed multi-storeyed House. Solar panel will be used for energy conservation. Its design is earthquake-resistant.
