Patna, Parliamentary Board Chairman of the ruling JD(U), the main alliance partner of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Upendra Kushwaha said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is also among those who have the ability to become Prime Minister.
Mr Kushwaha who returned here after attending the National executive meeting of JD(U), told news persons here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi heading NDA government was performing well. However the others too have the ability to become prime minister and Nitish Kumar is one among them. Given an opportunity Mr Kumar too would run the country efficiently, he claimed.
Mr Kushwaha said that he was constantly working to strengthen the organisation since the Assembly Elections were over in the state and maintained that he has no hesitation in claiming that his party would stand number one if the elections were held now. JD(U) leader said that the party leaders have strived to make it more vibrant.
Congratulating Lok Sabha MP Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh for unanimously being selected as national president of JD(U), former Union Minister said that the party would further be strengthened under the presidentship of Mr Lalan Singh. He said that they would try to expand the party’s base in other states too.
Mr Kushwaha said that the party never compromised with the secularism and added that JD(U), and BJP both have separate policies. He said that JD(U) was in favour of caste based census. Regarding population control law he said that it cannot be done by force but can be done with mass awareness. Any forced action made trigger opposition.
