Dehradun, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Uttarakhand, starting from October 12, with the aim of imparting a message of spirituality and initiating a new direction for the development of Manaskhand. The Prime Minister’s journey will commence from the sacred grounds of Jageshwar Dham, a place steeped in mythological and historical significance.
Jageshwar Dham, nestled on the banks of Patit Pavan Jataganga at an altitude of approximately 6200 feet above sea level, is believed to be the site where Lord Shiva and the Saptarishis performed their penance. The ancient temples in this region, constructed with massive stone blocks and adorned with intricate statues of deities, have been a source of spiritual solace for centuries.
The Prime Minister’s visit will be a momentous occasion for the picturesque Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. PM Modi will stay at the renowned Mayawati Ashram and will also pay his respects at Adi Kailash, a holy pilgrimage site near the China border known for its breathtaking beauty and spiritual significance.
Furthermore, PM Modi expressed his desire to explore the stunning landscapes of Jolikang, located within the Beas Valley, during his two-day visit. This natural wonder promises to leave an indelible mark on all who witness its splendor.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth a total of Rs 4194 crore, further bolstering the region’s infrastructure and growth.
To reach Jageshwar Dham, travelers can opt for train services to Kathgodam, followed by bus services from Delhi’s Anand Vihar ISBT and Dehradun to Haldwani and Almora. From Almora, taxi services are available for the 35-kilometer journey to Jageshwar Dham. Pantnagar Airport offers convenient air travel options, with taxi services connecting Pantnagar to Jageshwar Dham.
