Marathon race organized under Eat Right campaign.

Sahibganj (Jharkhand) | Competition race was organized by the district administration under the Eat Right campaign to represent the right food and better life. The race was flagged off at 07:00 AM in the morning by Deputy Commissioner Ram Niwas Yadav in the presence of Deputy Development Commissioner Prabhat Kumar Bardiyar, Forest Divisional Officer Manish Tiwari, Sub-Divisional Officer Sahibganj Hemant Sati and other dignitaries, at Dharamshala Chowk, Chowk Bazar, and was concluded at Sidhu Kanhu Stadium. In this sequence, all the senior officials including the Deputy Commissioner participated in the race and completed the journey from Dharamshala Chowk to Sidhu Kanhu Stadium while running.

Winners were awarded:

The event was more successful than expected, in which around 180 participants took part in the race. Ratan Kumar got first place in the competition, who took 08 minutes 54 at the same Vipin Kumar finished his race in 9 minutes 5 seconds and finished second, and Balram Besra finished third in 09 minutes 11 seconds. The three winners were rewarded with a citation and prize money cheque from the hands of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Yadav and the guests present.

Objective of the Eat Right campaign

During this, Deputy Commissioner Ram Niwas Yadav while addressing the participants and attendees said that the objective of the Eat Right campaign is that people should recognize balanced and quality food and try to bring it in their diet. He said that running is a very important exercise for human health, through which the chances of getting 99% diseases are less. So bring the right food and running in your daily routine. In his address, he said that people should use food items at least and should be aware of healthy diet, so that they will be able to avoid many diseases and their immunity will also be strong. Apart from this, he appealed to the general public to check the expiry date of the canned food item at any time while buying it. While eating in any cart, check the oil and tell the shopkeeper that he should use good oil.

At the conclusion of the competition, the Sub-Divisional Officer Sahibganj Hemant Sati while congratulating the participants said that the race is very beneficial for our life and our health. Today one out of every three people is suffering from obesity, due to which many diseases surround us before age and its treatment becomes impossible later, but if we all together decide from today that we should include protein, protein in our diet. If we use fats, carbohydrates, potassium and vitamins in a balanced way and make running a part of our lifestyle, then surely we will get many health benefits and our physical and mental energy will be maintained.
