Kejriwal Government extends Samman Rashi of rupees one crore each to the families of the bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the country

The Kejriwal government of Delhi has extended a financial assistance of one crore rupees each to the families of the bravehearts who sacrificed their for the country. The families of Shaheed ACP Sanket Kaushik of Delhi Police, Shaheed Constable Vikas Kumar of Delhi Police, Shaheed Civil Defence Volunteer Parvesh Kumar and Shaheed Squadron Leader Meet Kumar of the Air Force  have been handed over cheques of Rs. 1 crore each today. CM Arvind Kejriwal said that we sincerely hope that the families get some strength with the help of the Samman Rashi we are providing, and will support them no matter what. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that the Samman Rashi was provided to the families of the martyrs by the Kejriwal Government as a token of respect and gratitude for the sacrifice made by these families.

The Kejriwal Government extended the assistance through its ministers, MLAs and Rajya Sabha MPs who visited the residences of these martyrs to console them. 

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal visited the family of Shri Rajesh Kumar who martyred while serving in the air force and handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the family of Shri Rajesh Kumar. The CM said that we are extending a Samman Rashi to the family of Rs 1 crore to help the family; Even though this society can in no manner compensate for their loss, he hoped that this small gesture of help from the government will bring them strength in this situation. He said that the Delhi Government will always stand by the family and support them. 

*Ex-gratia amount given to the families of these martyrs*

*1. Swargiya Sanket Kaushik (ACP-Delhi Police)*

Swargiya Shri Sanket Kaushik, a native of Shastri Nagar, Ajmer in Rajasthan, was working as ACP in Delhi Police. He was living in Vasant Vihar, South West Delhi. His posting was with the traffic department in South West Delhi. On 25 July 2020, his duty was on the Rajkori flyover. He started checking vehicles on the service lane near Umrao Hotel. Meanwhile, at around 8:00 pm, a mini truck coming at a high speed from Gurugram hit him. He was admitted to AIIMS in a very critical condition, but the doctors unfortunately could not save him.

*2- Swargiya Vikas Kumar (Ct., (Exe), Delhi Police)*

Swargiya Shri Vikas Kumar, a resident of the Jhajjar district of Haryana, was working with the Delhi Police. He was posted at the Vasant Vihar police station in New Delhi. He was doing picket duty between Jiya Sarai and Nehru Place near Outer Ring Road on 15 September 2016. Meanwhile, a speeding car was seen coming from Munirka side. The ASI present there signalled the driver of the car coming to stop for investigation, but the driver increased the speed of the car and went ahead smashing the barricade. The barricade broke and hit Shri Vikas standing nearby and he was seriously injured. He was admitted to AIIMS Trauma Hospital in critical condition. Despite all the efforts of the doctors, we lost him on 1st October 2016.

*3- Swargiya Parvesh Kumar (Civil Defence)*

Swargiya Shri Parvesh Kumar, a resident of VPO Khaira, South West Delhi, was working in Civil Defence. Late on 19/20 September 2020, he along with his team was checking vehicles near the Mangolpuri flyover. Suddenly a truck came at high speed and ran away after hitting them. He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition, where he died in the afternoon during treatment.

*4- Swargiya Meet Kumar (Squadron Leader (Sqn. Ldr), Airforce)*

Swargiya Shri Meet Kumar, a resident of Ashok Vihar, Phase-I, Delhi, was working as a Squadron Leader in the Air Force. His MiG-21 aircraft crashed during an operational flight on 18 July 2018 at Kangra Hills (HP). He unfortunately passed away in the accident.

*5- Swargiya Rajesh Kumar (NC (E) Air Force)*

Swargiya Shri Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Safdarjung Enclave in South-West Delhi, was working with the Indian Air Force. AN-32 KA 2752 aircraft took off from Jorhat airport at 12:25 hrs on 03rd June 2019. He too was in it. The plane went missing after about half an hour. Later on 12 June 2019, the aircraft wreckage was found en route to Menchuka in Pari Hills, Siang, Arunachal Pradesh. All the members of the plane lost their lives in this accident. 

*Samman Rashi will be given to the family of Swargiya Sunit Mohanty (Lieutenant (Flt. Lt.), Airforce) on Sunday*

Swargiya Shri Sunit Mohanty, a resident of Dwarka Sector-7, South-West Delhi, was working as a Lieutenant in the Indian Air Force. Lt Sunit Mohanty (33895-G) F (P) was posted to 43 Squadron Air Force with effect from 24 June 2016. He was commissioned on 03 Jun 2019 to fly AN-32 KA 2752 aircraft to undertake an air maintenance mission for Mehkuka Airfield in Arunachal Pradesh. The aircraft took off from Jorhat Air Base at 12:25 hrs on 03 June 2019. The plane went missing after about half an hour of flight. Subsequently, the wreckage of the aircraft was found on 12 June 2019 at Menchuka en route to Pari Hills, Siang, Arunachal Pradesh. In this accident, all the members of the plane died, in which Lt Sunit Mohanty was also present. His family will be given the Samman Rashi by the Delhi Government on Sunday.
