Jamshedpur District Gears Up for Smooth Lok Sabha Elections

Jamshedpur EW News: In a proactive move towards ensuring the efficiency and transparency of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Jamshedpur District, a comprehensive review meeting was chaired by Mr. Ananya Mittal, the District Election Officer. Held at the Collectorate’s auditorium, the meeting witnessed the presence of various key officials, including Senior Police Superintendent Mr. Kishor Kaushal, Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar, and several other officers from different departments.

The primary agenda of the meeting was to conduct a thorough reassessment of the preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and to foster cohesive coordination among departments to guarantee flawless execution. Stressing on the imperative of 100% adherence to assigned responsibilities, Mr. Mittal emphasized the necessity for conducting peaceful, clean, impartial, and fear-free elections.

Key directives were issued during the meeting, focusing on devising action plans to achieve the objective of peaceful elections under all circumstances. Officials were instructed to finalize arrangements for polling, ensuring smooth functioning of voting procedures, especially in remote areas.

Additionally, preparations for voting through postal ballots were reviewed, including arrangements for home voting, facilitation centers, and postal ballot centers. It was underscored that voters should be duly informed in advance, and provisions should be made for their convenience during the voting process.

The meeting also addressed manpower management, randomization of polling personnel, and the deployment of volunteers for various polling booths, including those managed by women, youth, and disabled individuals.

Further discussions were held regarding logistical arrangements such as the reconciliation of accounts for timely payment to election workers and the maintenance of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the security of polling centers.

The electoral process through postal ballots is scheduled to commence from May 6th, with voting for different phases taking place from May 6th to May 29th at designated centers in the district.

As preparations continue, all stakeholders are committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and peaceful electoral process in Jamshedpur District, aligning with the democratic principles of the nation.
