The ranking of IIT, Dhanbad (ISM) has improved further in the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2021 released by the Union Education Ministry on Thursday. In the top 100 engineering colleges of the country, the institute was ranked 12th last year, which has reached 11th position this time. At the same time, the trend of decline in the ranking of BIT Mesra continues. This time it has been ranked 46th in the engineering colleges category. Last year it was ranked 38th across the country.

At the same time, the ranking of NIT, Jamshdepur has also declined. It has slipped from 79th to 86th position. Its ranking also improved last year. In the National Institute Ranking Framework, this time also not a single college from Jharkhand has been able to make it to the top 100 colleges of the country. In the category of Medical Colleges, Dental Colleges, Law Colleges and Research, not a single institute of Jharkhand has been able to make its place.

Ranking of Universities The only BIT Mesra from Jharkhand has made it to the top 100 universities across the country. However, its ranking has also dropped from 66th to 86th position. The good thing is that out of the top 100 institutes in the management institutes category, four are from Jharkhand. However, except for Jamshedpur’s XLRI, the rankings of three institutions declined. XLRI ranks 8th, IIM Ranchi 21st, ISM Dhanbad 30th and BIT 70th in the country.

There has been a decline in the ranking of IIM, Ranchi. Similarly, in terms of overall (all categories of institutes), IIT Dhanbad is ranked 26th. BIT Mesra has not got a place in this this time. Last year it was ranked 85th. In the category of Architecture Institutes, BIT has been ranked 14th in the top 50.
