Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday paid floral tributes to the picture of the immortal martyr Sido-Kanhu on the occasion of Hool Diwas. Hool Day is being celebrated across the state today. It is a special day to remember the rebellion, struggle and sacrifice of the tribals against the British rule. On this occasion, the Chief Minister told the people of the state that Jharkhand is the land of heroes and martyrs.
It is said that in 1855, under the leadership of Sido-Kanhu, the tribals had shown indomitable valor and courage to get rid of the British. These heroes had sacrificed their lives for the sake of their rights and country. The martyrdom of such heroes of Santhal rebellion will always inspire all of us. Making Jharkhand according to the ideals of these immortal martyrs is a true tribute to them.

Union Minister cum MP of Kharsawan region Arjun Munda paid homage to the immortal martyrs of Hul Kranti and also a floral tributes to the brave martyrs at his residence in Delhi. On this occasion, he said that salutes to the immortal freedom fighter martyrs Sido-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairava, Phoolo-Jhano. The Hul Revolution of Santal is considered to be the first war of independence. On June 30, 1855, on the call of revolutionary leaders Sido and Kanhu Murmu, 20,000 Santals revolted against the British rule at Bhognadih in the palace.
