Palamu. Deputy Development Commissioner Megha Bhardwaj inaugurated the MDA program related to Filariasis Eradication at MMCH. Filariasis eradication program will be run till 30 July 2021.On the occasion, Deputy Development Commissioner Megha Bhardwaj said that the residents of Palamu should take advantage of the Filaria Eradication Week run by the Health Department. He said that filarial disease is very painful. The organs affected by this disease become severely swollen, due to which the person has to face a lot of problems. Filariasis can be avoided by taking anti-filaria medicine.Smt. Bhardwaj has appealed to the residents of Palamu that under the Mass Drug Administration program to be run under Filariasis Eradication Week, people should take the medicine of Filariasis and make themselves safe from Filariasis and make Palamu district free from Filariasis.

 

Civil surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, who was present on the spot, said that the Filaria Eradication Program is to be run by the Health Department from July 26 to 30. Under this, under the Mass Drug Administration program, all the people above the age of 2 years are to be fed the medicine of filariasis. He said that our target is to provide free filarial medicine to 18 lakh 19 thousand 441 people. The health department is fully prepared for this program. For this program, 2145 booths have been made in 1780 villages of the district.

 

On the occasion, apart from Deputy Development Commissioner Megha Bhardwaj, Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer Rajesh Kumar Sah, Civil Surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, District Malaria Officer Dr. MP Singh, many doctors of MMCH and DPM of Health Department Deepak Kumar Gupta and others were present.
