Hubballi, In retaliation to senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah calling BJP a Talibani party, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai Monday called Congress as the party of slaves.
“Theirs (Congress) is a party of slaves. Ours is a patriotic party. Therefore for them everything looks as such,” he told reporters here.
Siddaramaiah, on Sunday, had not only called Bommai as Mukhauta (mask) of the RSS, but also termed BJP as Talibani party while addressing a party event.
Bommai said Siddaramaiah has become rather desperate and should not stoop to such a level by making unreasonable comments, especially when he is a former chief minister.
Because of the implementation of Maculay’s education policy by the successive Congress governments for decades, the youth of the country were deprived of education of international standards, he said.
Now that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to impart education of international standard by implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) and the Congress is creating obstacles in the way of the youth, especially the rural children, he said.
Bommai, while speaking in the state assembly on Friday, had said that he does not have any qualms about Congress calling NEP as Nagpur or RSS Education Policy. “RSS is nationalism and nationalism is RSS,” he had said.
The Speaker, Visveshwar Heggade Kageri, had also batted for the implementation of the NEP in the state as it paves the way for giving quality education to the children of the country befitting the 21st century.
