BJP leaders stage dharna in farms over issues of farmers

Ranchi: Over the issues related to the farmers including pending payment for paddy sold by them to procurement agencies the state BJP on Friday staged dharna in the farm and fields.

The programme was held across 1163 spots in the state in which party leaders, workers and farmers participated. Participating in one such dharna programme in Kanke block of Sukurhutu State BJP chief Deepak Prakash accused the state government of doing injustice with the farmers.

He said that farmers who are spreading reeling due to the pandemic their money has been withheld by the government. He said that previous year the farmers had ensured record paddy procurement but due to the negligence of the government they are now sad.
He said that during the Vidhansabha elections the JMM, Congress and RJD had made big promises but none of them have been fulfilled. He said that promises of loan wavier of upto Rs 2 lakh, free power to the powers, pension to farmers and old age people have been set aside and pro farmer schemes which were started by the BJP have been shut.
Participating in a similar programme in Lotai village of Giridih district leader of legislature wing Babulal Marandi said that the if state government is not able to make payment to the farmers it has no moral rights to remain in power.

He said that the state government on one hand failed to fulfill the promises to the farmers and on the other hand took away their earnings due to which the farmers were forced to sell the paddy at throw away prices to the middlemen.

State organisation general secretary Dharampal Singh said that if the farmers are sad then the state can never be happy. He said that if the government fails to clear the pending payment a bigger agitation will be staged by the farmers in the state.
