Approve ‘Pradahan Mantri Aawas’ yojna by December: NN Sinha

Ranchi | Union Rural Development Secretary NN Sinha held a review meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners and Rural Development Officers in Ranchi through video conferencing. The Union Secretary gave clear instructions to all the officers for completing all houses in the current financial year exclusively. While praising the MNREGA scheme, the Union Secretary said that its work is getting better; in this situation all the Deputy Commissioners should also expedite the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Union Secretary said that the houses which have not been approved between the financial years (2016-21) should be approved by December 2021 in any case.

Names of the beneficiaries migrated from 1 year will be removed from the list.

The Secretary instructed to grant permission to the beneficiaries who temporarily migrated from the last one year, to remove them, and to give permission for housing to the beneficiaries of the priority list settled in the mining areas in Palamu, Pakur, and Garhwa districts by providing them land at another place. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, each beneficiary is given MNREGA, toilets from Swachh Bharat Mission, free gas stove and connection, electricity connection, and water connection through convergence.
The Secretary said that under MNREGA, less employment has been received in proportion to the population of Scheduled Tribes and Castes and directed to pay special attention to this. All the Deputy Commissioners were instructed to ensure that all the beneficiaries get the benefit of the social security and insurance scheme.
Rural Development Secretary Dr. Manish Ranjan said that bringing progress in the housing scheme is the priority of the government. It should be ensured that the first, second, and third installment amount is allotted to all the beneficiaries by sanctioning the houses at the earliest so that the work of construction of the house can be completed.
MNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B directed to link MNREGA schemes to all. Ensure that laborers get work on time and their wages are paid on time. He gave strict instructions to all the Block Development Officers, Block Program Officers, Assistant Engineers, and Junior Engineers to inspect 50-50 ongoing schemes every month through Area Officer App and upload their report on the App.
