New Delhi, In a significant move aimed at ushering in a new era of efficiency and transparency, Union Minister  Anurag Thakur has launched four groundbreaking portals set to redefine India’s media landscape. These transformative initiatives promise to streamline operations for newspaper publishers and TV channels, enhance government communication, provide easy access to authentic government videos, and create a comprehensive database of Local Cable Operators (LCOs).

The cornerstone of this initiative is the Press Sewa Portal, a revolutionary platform designed to revolutionize the registration process for periodicals and newspapers. Developed under the Press and Registration of Periodicals Act, 2023, this portal simplifies the cumbersome registration procedures, offering online applications, real-time tracking, and dedicated modules for District Magistrates, all aimed at fostering a more conducive business environment for publishers.

Accompanying this is the Transparent Empanelment Media Planning and eBilling System, a game-changer in government communication. This system, implemented by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), streamlines media planning processes, automates billing, and provides a mobile app for partners, ensuring transparency and efficiency in government communications.

Furthermore, the Navigate Bharat Portal serves as a unified hub for government videos, offering citizens easy access to authentic information on various government schemes and initiatives. This user-friendly platform eliminates the hassle of searching for official information from multiple sources, ensuring that no one is left behind in understanding the initiatives shaping the nation’s future.

Lastly, the National Register for LCOs strengthens the cable sector by centralizing the registration process for Local Cable Operators, promising a more organized and regulated industry.

Addressing the audience at the launch, Minister Anurag Thakur emphasized India’s attractiveness as an investment destination, attributing it to transformative governance and economic reforms led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to fostering innovation, transparency, and progress in the media sector, ultimately contributing to India’s overall welfare and development.

The launch of these portals marks a significant leap towards a digitized and modernized media landscape in India, reaffirming the government’s commitment to facilitating ease of doing business and promoting transparency in governance.
