Chief Minister invited PM Modi to inaugurate the upcoming Global Investment Conference
New Delhi, EW Correspondent: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, discussing crucial aspects for the state’s progress. Chief Minister Dhami extended his appreciation to PM Modi for the successful evacuation of workers from the Silkyara Tunnel, emphasizing the importance of the central government’s swift response.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Dhami invited PM Modi to inaugurate the upcoming Global Investment Conference scheduled for December 08 and 09, 2023, in Dehradun. The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude for the inclusion of the Jamarani Dam Project in the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, with an approved budget of Rs. 1730.21 crore.
Seeking further support, Chief Minister Dhami presented requests for financial assistance, including Rs. 2460 crore for the Song Dam Drinking Water Project and Rs. 3000 crore for the upgradation of Jolly Grant Airport. Additionally, he urged the establishment of an All India Ayurveda Institute in Haridwar and Uttarakhand’s inclusion in the Kiwi Feasibility Study with New Zealand.
In a bid to enhance infrastructure, Chief Minister Dhami sought approval for multiple road projects, the declaration of the Ranikhet-Bhatronjkhan motor road as a national highway, and endorsement for tunnel projects and the Tanakpur-Bageshwar Railway Scheme.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister appealed for the swift action by the Airport Authority of India on Naini-Saini Airport, Pantnagar Airport expansion, and the establishment of a Government Ayurveda College and Research Center. Additionally, he sought permissions for various hydro power projects, emphasizing sustainable development in the region.
The meeting highlighted a collaborative effort between the state and central government to propel Uttarakhand towards holistic growth and development.
