Niraj Tiwari, accused of Nirsa ganja case, Raunak Gupta and Rohit Gupta of Aman gang, were fired indiscriminately on Thursday night by two bike-borne criminals sitting in Singh ji’s tea shop near Katras’s Rajasthani Dharamshala. Neeraj Tiwari died in the firing. The injured Raunak and Rohit are undergoing treatment. Police have received information that Ashish Ranjan alias Chhotu of Aman gang along with other attackers have carried out the incident. It is being told that all three had reached Singh ji’s tea shop to smoke a cigarette. Meanwhile, at around eight o’clock in the night, two attackers reached the spot riding on a bike and fled after firing 15-20 rounds. The attackers opened fire targeting Neeraj Tiwari.
Raunak Gupta and Rohit Gupta, who were working for the Aman Singh gang in recent times, were also shot in the firing. Both have been shot in the arm and leg. Raunak Gupta is being treated at Asarfi Hospital while Rohit Gupta is shot in the hand and is being treated by doctors at Nichitpur Nursing Home itself.
Police have recovered six shells from the spot. After being shot, Neeraj Tiwari was brought to Asarfi Hospital in a critical condition where doctors declared him brought dead. Katras police reached the spot after getting information, while Baghmara SDPO Nisha Murmu and ASP Law and Order Manoj Swargiyari reached Asarfi Hospital. Later, Katras police station in-charge Ras Bihari Lal and Dhanbad Inspector Vinay Kumar also reached Asarfi Hospital.
Giving information about the incident before the police, the injured Rohit Gupta said that the three had a liquor party together at the first bus stand. Neeraj Tiwari had reached there from Kako only half an hour ago. After drinking alcohol, they had come to the tea shop to smoke cigarettes. Meanwhile, two criminals sitting on a bike came there. Both of them suddenly started abusing Neeraj Tiwari.
Until they understood something, the criminals started firing. Neeraj Tiwari and Raunak Gupta were sitting while he was standing. While firing, he started running, due to which a bullet was fired in his hand. The bike riders came from the side of the vegetable belt and after firing fled towards Katras-Rajganj road.
Dhanbad SSP Sanjeev Kumar said, “Police is probing all the points. Criminals will be caught soon. The search is on for the attackers.
