A young man committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of RIMS, the largest medical institute located in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. After reaching the bathroom of the ENT department of the medical college, the young man first broke the window glass. After that he jumped down from there. The youth was a resident of Murhu Kathal Toli of Khunti district. The name of the youth is being told as Soma Pahan.
Soma had come to RIMS for the treatment of his brother. Brother’s treatment is going on in the Neuro ICU of RIMS. The cause of death of the young man is not yet known. The police team that reached the spot is collecting information about this from the brother treated. Some people say that seeing the young man jumping, some people tried to stop him but the young man did not listen to anyone. Police is probing the whole matter thoroughly. The family members of the youth have been informed about this. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Incidents of committing suicide by jumping off the roof of RIMS Hospital have happened in the past as well. To prevent this incident, it is claimed that all necessary steps are taken by the hospital management. Despite this, such incidents keep happening. The police investigation team reached the spot after Tuesday’s incident and conducted a thorough investigation. Information about the family status of the youth is being collected. An inquiry is being conducted regarding the mental state of the youth. So far nothing has been clarified.
