Thane, Three medical teams of the Thane Municipal Corporation have left for Chiplun in Ratnagiri district to provide medical assistance to people affected by recent floods and calamity.
The teams have been dispatched following the directions of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde, an official release stated.
Thane civic commissioner Dr Vipin Sharma had already sent teams, comprising of more than 150 personnel, to Mahad-Poladpur in Raigadh district.
The Chief Minister after the review of the situation at Chiplun felt the need for sending medical teams there.
Mayor Naresh Mhaske greeted the medical teams before their departure on Monday.
Also, medical teams of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation have also left for Chiplun, an official told reporters.
