The Jharkhand High Court has granted bail to Bhairav Singh, the main accused in the attack on Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s convoy in Kishoreganj, Ranchi. The court has granted bail in view of the period of his judicial custody. The court held that the attack was not premeditated.Four on the convoy of Chief Minister Hemant Soren near Kishoreganj Chowk on January 4 this year while returning from the Secretariat. People were protesting after the body of a girl was found in Kishoreganj. The trial court had refused bail to Bhairav Singh. Thereafter, he filed a petition in the High Court.
During the hearing on Monday, the government opposed the bail and said that attacking the CM’s convoy is a serious offense and the attack was pre-planned.
While the lawyers of Bhairav Singh argued that there was no real attack. People were already demonstrating there.
When CM’s convoy reached, people started protesting on the road. There was a huge crowd in the demonstration and no one instigated the crowd. There is no involvement of Bhairav Singh in this case. There is no direct evidence against him. While hearing earlier, the court had asked for the case diary of the matter. On Monday, after hearing the case diary and both the sides, the court granted bail.
