Status of Ongoing Railway Projects in the State Discussed

Sh. Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager Northern Railway held a meeting with the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand today in Dehradun. The Officials discussed the status of the various ongoing Railway projects in the state. The Chief Secretary requested the GM to complete the projects on time so that the people can benefit from the new facilities. He also assured that all cooperation will be provided from the state administration for expeditious completion of these projects. The GM then called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami. The Chief Minister appreciated the work being done by the Railways in the state to provide an all-weather convenient mode of transportation to the people. 

Earlier in the day GM inspected the Dehradun – Motichur rail section. The section has been electrified recently. A portion of the railline passes through the famed Rajaji National Park and two important stations Raiwala and Doiwala are being developed from where the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail line will take off. The GM was briefed about the section and the various concerns were discussed. The GM was accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager, Moradabad, Sh. Ajay Nandan, senior officials of Northern Railway and division.

Sh. Gangal inspected the newly constructed platforms at Dehradun station. He also visited the washing line and the station premises. He inquired about the status of other developmental works coming up in the station area. 

Addressing a press meet the GM assured the media that all trains running in the pre-covid times will be restored in a phased manner. He added that new trains will be introduced as the demand increases. He also said that railways is putting in all efforts to complete the major connectivity project Rishikesh-Karnaprayag BG line on time so that people of the state as well as the tourists and pilgrims visiting the state can benefit from it.
