Seizures Reach Over 71 Crore 30 Lakh in Jharkhand

Ranchi EW News: Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand K Ravi Kumar, stated that since the announcement of elections, a total of 41 cases of violations of the Model Code of Conduct have been registered in the state. Among these, Palamu, Hazaribagh, and Ranchi have reported 6 cases each, while Dhanbad has 5, Saraikela-Kharsawan has 4, and Giridih and Garhwa have 3 cases each. Additionally, 2 cases have been registered in Simdega, and 1 each in Sahibganj and Khunti. K Ravi Kumar made these remarks during a regular press briefing at the Election Commission in Dhurwa.

He further informed that a total of 25 nomination papers have been filed for the fifth phase of elections. Among these, 12 nominations are from the Chatra Lok Sabha constituency, 7 from Kodarma, and 6 from Hazaribagh. Furthermore, 3 nomination papers have been filed for the Gandey Assembly by-election. For the sixth phase of elections, a total of 14 nominations have been filed, with 3 from Giridih Lok Sabha constituency, 5 from Dhanbad, 2 from Ranchi, and 4 for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat.

He disclosed that since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, seizures totaling over 71 crore 30 lakh rupees, including goods and cash, have been made across various categories.
