New Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday once again raised the demand that the centre abolish the controversial new farm laws.
The demand comes a day after the farmers’ protests at different borders of Delhi completed nine months.
Tweeting in Hindi, the former Congress president said he will not let farms be “destroyed” or “gifted to friends”.
“Roll back the farm laws,” he said.
Farmer groups that have been stationed at the borders of Delhi, under the banner of Samyukt Kisan Morcha, completed nine months of protests on Thursday.
An All India Convention was held at the Singhu border by the protesting farmers on Thursday to mark the completion of nine months of their protests at the Delhi borders.
Demand for the abolition of the new farm laws is also among the issues which has united the Opposition in the Parliament. Opposition leaders had also joined a mock Parliament held by Samyukt Kisan Morcha at Jantar Mantar on August 6.
