Ranchi: Bank Officials Directed to Increase CD Ratio to at least 60%

Ranchi EW News: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha, a district-level implementation committee meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Collectorate Block-A. The meeting was attended by District Development Manager (NABARD), Mr. D.T. Lugun, Lead District Officer R.B.I., Ms. Rashmi, Chief Manager District Industries Center Ranchi, Mr. Rajiv Ranjan, District Agriculture Officer, Mr. Ramshankar Singh, Lead District Manager Ranchi, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary, and all the coordinators of the respective banks along with all relevant officials.

During the meeting of the district-level advisory committee, various directives were issued to all officials, primarily focusing on reviewing the annual targets given by banks, especially related to the Kisan Credit Card scheme. Branch managers were instructed to ensure timely fulfillment of targets and were commended for their achievements in the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to provide benefits to the beneficiaries in the primary sector loans, which include investments in agriculture besides Kisan Credit Card loans, and special attention was given to poultry farming, goat farming, fish farming, pig farming, and irrigation agriculture mechanization, etc., and directed to achieve the targets accordingly.

Additionally, a review of various social schemes such as Self Help Groups, Mudra Loan, Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana, Prime Minister Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, etc., was conducted by the relevant officials, and all branch managers were instructed to approve loans in accordance with the targets.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the deposit loan ratio of 43.97%, all banks were directed to fulfill at least 60% of the CD ratio in the financial year 2023-24.
