Tokyo, India’s PV Sindhu stormed into the badminton quarter finals at the Tokyo Olympics after defeating world No. 12 Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark in the round of 16 here on Thursday.
Sindhu defeated her opponent 21-15, 21-13 in straight games in the women’s singles event at the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza.
The Rio Olympics silver medallist is now just two wins away from winning her second medal at the Olympics, and become the first Indian woman to achieve this feat.
Sindhu will next face the winner of the tie between Akane Yamaguchi of Japan and Kim Gaeun of South Korea in the quarterfinals.
