Sahibganj | Police Remembrance Day is celebrated every year on 21 October in memory of the martyred policemen. In this regard, a memorial program was organized in the memory of the police personnel who laid down their lives at the Police Line Grounds today. During this, senior police officers including Deputy Commissioner Ram Niwas Yadav, Superintendent of Police Anuranjan Kispotta observed a two-minute silence in the memory of the martyred police personnel and paid tribute to the martyrs by garlanding them.
Remembering the martyrdom of the policemen at the Police Line Ground, the personnel paraded and paid tribute to them by paying floral tributes to their photographs. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Yadav and Superintendent of Police Mr. Kispotta honored the families of the martyrs by presenting shawls.
While addressing the police personnel during the program, the Superintendent of Police said that every year on October 21, the Police Remembrance Day is celebrated in the memory of the police personnel who were martyred in the past years. He said that in the last year, 373 police personnel all over India have laid down their lives for the country, while 04 police personnel have been martyred while on duty in the state. He said that we all salute all these brave sons by remembering their sacrifice, and we get inspiration from the sacrifice of these martyrs to work with loyalty, honesty, and duty.
