New Delhi, The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) took a significant step towards its renewable energy goals by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) on September 27, 2023. This collaborative effort aims to pave the way for the development of renewable energy projects across various sectors.
The MoU ceremony saw the formal agreement signed by Debdulal Adhikari, Executive Director of ONGC (left), and Mohit Bhargava, CEO of NGEL. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished figures, including Arun Kumar Singh, Chairman & CEO of ONGC, and Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director & CEO of NTPC Limited.
This strategic partnership between ONGC and NGEL marks a significant collaboration in the realm of renewable power projects, both within India and internationally. The agreement extends its scope to offshore wind projects and entails the exploration of opportunities in various sectors, including energy storage, e-mobility, carbon credits, green credits, nuclear energy, green hydrogen, and its associated derivatives such as Green Ammonia and Green Methanol.
Through this MoU, ONGC and NGEL aim to contribute significantly to India’s transition towards cleaner and sustainable energy sources, aligning with the country’s renewable energy objectives and global climate initiatives.
