Palamu EW News: NTPC has handed over a cheque of Rs. 1 crore to Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan as the first installment for the installation of 27 check dams and 50 deep bores in the district. The cheque was presented at the office of the Deputy Commissioner under the CSR initiative of NTPC. Following the completion of some tasks, NTPC will also provide another cheque of Rs. 50 lakhs to the Deputy Commissioner as the second installment. Present at the occasion were District Planning Officer Avinash Kumar, NTPC General Manager Pankaj Dhyanee, Deputy General Manager SK Senapati, along with officials from the district administration.
It is worth noting that prior to this, the district administration had received an MOU of Rs. 2 crores and 31 lakhs from CCL for the construction of 50 check dams and 50 deep bores through four installments.
Relief from Water Issues for People: Deputy Commissioner
After receiving the cheque, Deputy Commissioner Shri Ranjan stated that with the installation of a total of 77 check dams and 100 deep bores in the district, many problems related to drinking water will be alleviated. This work will prove to be a milestone for Palamu in the future. He mentioned that the installation of deep bores will improve agricultural activities in the district and strengthen the rural economy. Additionally, the installation of check dams will enhance water management. District Planning Officer Avinash Kumar remarked that the Deputy Commissioner had been consistently striving for this project, and today, it has been successfully accomplished.
