nCoV: 28 new cases in UT

Puducherry, Union Territory saw a decline in fresh Covid-19 cases with 28 cases recorded in the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM, on Monday, taking the infection tally to 1,27,424 and the fatality toll remained at 1,850 with no deaths reported during the period.
The new cases have registered after 3,846 swab samples of persons tested yesterday. 

Fifty two Coronavirus cases and one death had reported on Sunday.

According to Covid-19 status released by the health department here, 24 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, three in Karaikal region and one in Mahe region.

As many as 90 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours and 58 of them were from Puducherry region, 25 from Karaikal region, one from Yanam region and six from Mahe region.

Presently, 77 patients were treated at hospitals in Puducherry region, nine in Karaikal region, seven in Yanam region and 12 in Mahe region.

Another, 418 persons were undergoing treatment in home isolation in all the four regions of the UT after they were tested positive for Covid.

So far, 1,27,424 persons are infected by Coronavirus and of which 1,25,051 patients were treated and discharged, 1,850 people died and there are 523 active cases now.

The test positivity rate in the UT is 0.73 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.45 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.14 per cent.

As many as 10,76,582 doses of Covid vaccine were administered so far to healthcare workers, frontline workers and general public in the Union Territory.
