Aurangabad, Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 56 new cases of COVID-19 and 2 deaths were reported during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Tuesday.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported 10 new cases and single death followed by Latur with 6 cases and single death, Osmanabad with 17 cases, Aurangabad with nine cases, Nanded and Jalna 5 cases each , Parbhani registered 4 cases and Hingoli nil, they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 1,485 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,93,182.
The state also registered 27 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,39,816.
Meanwhile,2,078 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 64,21,756 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.4 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 28,008 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
