Marathwada adds 185 more cases

Aurangabad, The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 185 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Saturday.

The districts headquarters report stated that of the eight districts, Beed was the worst-affected district with 93 cases and 2 deaths, followed by Osmanabad 70 cases, Aurangabad 11 cases and single death, Nanded 3 cases and single death, Jalna 2 cases and single death, Hingoli and Parbhani districts nil. 

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 4,365 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 64,15,935. The state also registered 105 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,35,935.

Meanwhile, 6,384 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 62,21,305. The recovery rate currently stands at 96.97 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.11 per cent.

At present, there are 55,454 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.
