Aurangabad, The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 243 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Friday.
The districts headquarters report stated that of eight districts, Beed was the worst-affected district with 143 cases and one death, followed by Osmanabad 51 cases, Aurangabad 20 cases, Latur 15 cases and two deaths, Nanded 7 cases, Jalna six cases and Parbhani district single case.
Besides, Hingoli registered one death due to the virus.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 5,225 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 64,11,570.
The state also registered 154 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,35,570.
Meanwhile, 5,557 patients also recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 62,14,921.
The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 96.93 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.11 per cent.
At present, there are 57,579 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.
