Aurangabad, The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 128 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district was the worst-affected with 30 cases and two deaths, followed by Latur with eight cases and two deaths ,Beed recorded 41 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 41 cases, Nanded 8 cases.
Meanwhile, Parbhani, Jalna and Hingoli did not register any new Covid case.
During the past 24 hours, 4,174 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 64,97,877.
The state also registered 65 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,37,967.
According to the Department of Public Health, more than 6.55 crore doses have been administered in the state so far.
