Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala is poised to become an ‘antibiotic literate’ state in 2023, Health Minister Veena George said.
An action plan has been formulated to achive this aim by strengthening the ‘Kerala Antimicrobial Resistance Strategic Action Plan (KARSAP),’ the Minister said in a release here.
The action plan was formulated for giving a strategic direction to the various activities undertaken to tackle antimicrobial resistance in the state.
The action plan says the general public should be made aware of the issues associated with misuse of antibiotics.
It may be noted that Kerala is a huge market for medicines and the misuse of antibiotics is soaring.
