Kanpur, Kanpur’s transport system will soon get a major boost. The-much awaited Kanpur Metro rail would start its trial run from November 10.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the trail run at 1000 hrs on Wednesday, state industrial development minister Satish Mahana said.
After completing the technical formalities, according to Mahana, a plan will be made to dedicate the metro train to the public by December 31 next this year. The Kanpur Metro project was started on November 15 , 2019.
Mahana said the work of the first phase is almost complete. The first phase is around 9 kms from IIT to Motijheel which has 9 stations.
At present, a total of three rakes will be made available for the trial run.
In its second phase, an underground track will be prepared from Motijheel to Transportnagar.
