The Rail Over Bridge (ROB) under construction at Jugsalai will be operational by March 2022. The bridge is ready, its approach road is likely to be made in the next six months. This information was given by the Executive Engineer of Jamshedpur Path Division, Ram Vilas Sahu.
He said that all the obstacles in the way of construction of the approach road of ROB have been removed. Its revised estimate was approved by the state cabinet on 14 September. Earlier its estimate was Rs 29 and a half crore, which has now become 44 crore. The Executive Engineer said that the design of the approach road has been slightly changed. This change has been made because of the soil test report. He assured that despite all the hurdles, it would not be too late to construct the approach road. The issue of rail overbridge was going on in Jugsalai for nearly five decades. Eventually the obstacles to its construction were overcome. Under the agreement between the state government and the railways, the construction of the bridge is done by the railways, while the responsibility of the access road lies with the state government. There is also a hurdle in shifting around 30 families. Now this problem has also been resolved.
