Jharkhand’s Mineral Wealth Illuminates Other States:  Hemant Soren

Ranchi: In a “Job Fair” held at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Khelgaon Ranchi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren addressed the distribution program of offer letters to 2500 skilled youth, emphasizing the state’s commitment to securing residents and migrant workers during the global pandemic. He highlighted the role of women in combating COVID-19 and unveiled initiatives to create employment beyond mineral resources.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed concern over decades of mining in Jharkhand benefiting other states while leaving its residents in darkness. He stated that the government has diversified employment opportunities beyond mineral extraction, integrating the textile industry into the state’s economic landscape.

Soren mentioned the successful implementation of a robust industry policy, ensuring 75% of local hires within the textile sector. He emphasized the government’s efforts to connect skilled youth with private sector employment, surpassing 50,000 placements in the past two and a half years.

Addressing the need for inclusive development, the Chief Minister stated that all government schemes are crafted according to the capabilities of the Adivasi and Moolvasi populations. He announced a credit card scheme, aiming to encourage local youth to pursue careers as doctors, engineers, lawyers, and government officers.

Additionally, Soren inaugurated the Abua Housing Scheme to provide permanent housing for marginalized individuals. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring every resident has access to food, clothing, and shelter.

Highlighting the state’s vision, Chief Minister Hemant Soren underlined the aspiration for local children to become doctors, engineers, lawyers, and government officials. The Guruji Credit Card Scheme is being launched to support this vision.

The event witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, MLA Rajesh Kachhap, Chief Secretary L. Khiyangte, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Industries Secretary Jitendra Kumar Singh, JIADA MD Shashi Ranjan, and representatives from the textile industry, Deepak Agrawal and Sudhir Dhingra. Numerous youth and women who received offer letters were also present.
