If any journalist sticks to his principles then he will be called impartial: Saryu Rai

Ranchi, EW News: The Jharkhand Journalists’ Association (JJA) held a seminar on impartial journalism at the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Auditorium on Sunday. The event saw prominent speakers, including legislator Sarayu Rai, addressing the audience. The occasion marked the inauguration of the new State Committee, with Sarayu Rai welcoming the newly appointed State President, Sampoornanand Bharati, and other committee members by presenting them with floral garlands and books. The seminar also featured key figures like Chandan Mishra, the Jharkhand Journalists Association State Coordinator, senior journalist Shyam Kishor Choubey, JJAJ founder Shahnawaz Hasan, and Sanjay Pandey, an official from the Election Commission. A significant number of journalists attended the event.

Addressing the audience, Sarayu Rai emphasized the importance of impartiality in journalism, stating that a journalist adhering to their principles could be considered unbiased. He underscored the evolving nature of ground realities and the need for journalists to stay true to their objectives. Rai asserted that impartiality in journalism could only be achieved when journalists remain committed to their principles.

Sanjay Pandey, Deputy Commissioner of the Jharkhand State Election Commission, provided detailed insights into the role of media in today’s information age. He highlighted the significance of staying updated and emphasized that the Election Commission has made all information available online for easy access.

Shyam Kishor Choubey echoed the importance of impartiality in journalism and urged for equal facilities for journalists across the state. He expressed concerns about the challenges faced by journalists, especially in regions outside Ranchi. Sampoornanand Bharati, the newly appointed State President, thanked everyone for their warm welcome and called for unity among journalists to work towards the betterment of the organization. He stressed that the association is not about individuals but a collective effort for the welfare of journalists. The seminar concluded with Shahnawaz Hasan, the National Secretary of the Bhartiya Sramjivi Patrakar Sangh BSPS, thanking everyone for their participation and encouraging journalists to work together for the common goal. The event served as a platform for journalists from all districts of the state to come together and discuss the challenges and responsibilities associated with their profession.
