Lucknow, Last Saturday, Prakash Mishra (42), son of former BJP MP Bhairo Prasad Mishra, died in Lucknow’s PGI due to lack of treatment. The former MP kept pleading with the doctors for about one and a half hours but he could not get a bed for his son. Meanwhile, Prakash was left breathless. The state government ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter and the concerned doctor, who was prima facie found guilty, has been relieved of duty. PGI director has also been warned regarding the incident. Chitrakoot resident Bhairon Prasad Mishra had won the elections from Banda parliamentary constituency in 2014 on BJP ticket. His son Prakash was suffering from kidney disease. Prakash was undergoing treatment from PGI only. When his condition worsened, he took his son to the PGI emergency at around 11 pm on Saturday night, but the doctors posted there refused to admit him saying that there were no beds available.
Due to lack of treatment even after reaching the emergency room, Prakash started feeling short of breath. Seeing the condition of his son, the former MP kept pleading with the doctors. Kept pleading. Folded hands also. But the doctor did not sweat. Didn’t even touch the patient. Ultimately Prakash died while lying on the stretcher.
The Director has constituted a three-member committee to investigate the matter. Institute’s CMS Dr. Sanjay Dhiraj, Medical Superintendent Dr. VK Paliwal and Head of Emergency Medicine Department Dr. RK Singh have been included in the committee. The committee will submit the investigation report on Monday. The director said that further action will be taken after the report comes.
