Ranchi EW News: Chief Election Officer Ravi Kumar conducted a thorough inspection of various polling centers in Simariya, located in the Chatra Lok Sabha constituency, to ensure the minimum required facilities for voters. During the inspection, he gathered information about the ongoing work by the BLO (Booth Level Officer) and reviewed the awareness groups and volunteers’ lists, emphasizing the timely inclusion of new voters’ names in the voter list. He directed the immediate implementation of processes related to removing absent, shifted, and deceased voters from the voter list after its finalization. Additionally, he instructed the registration of differently-abled and senior citizens, repair of ramps at polling centers, provision of wheelchair chairs, clean toilets with running water, gender signage on toilet walls, signage on toilet paths, and ensured the availability of clean drinking water. Information regarding seating arrangements for polling officers, presiding officers, as well as the placement of VVPAT and EVMs in the polling booths was also obtained. He directed the rectification of deficiencies in the polling centers by March 27, aiming to facilitate a smooth voting process for voters.

The Chief Election Officer inspected the following polling centers: Government Utkramit Madhy Vidyalaya, Ichakgarh (Urdu) – Polling Center No. 63, Government Girls Middle School, Simariya – Polling Center No. 70, and Government Basic School, Simariya – Polling Centers No. 72 and 73. District Election Officer-cum-Sub-Collector Ramesh Gholap and other officials were present during the inspection of polling centers.
